- What are decals made out of?
- All graphics are die cut from very thin self adhesive vinyl with a matte finish. Graphics are flexible and durable. Once applied, the graphics look as if they have actually been printed onto your walls (or other surface)!
- What types of surfaces can I place my graphics on?
Most smooth, dry, nonporous surfaces will work well. Graphics also look great on floors, ceilings, doors, walls, laptops, furniture, and are perfect for embellishing toy boxes, head boards, journals, computers, glass, appliances, or plastic containers! The possibilities are endless.
- Are graphics removable?
Yes! Once you are done with your art (or ready for a new design!) you can easily peel off your graphics. However, they are not repositionable. (Since I cannot guarantee the condition of all wall surfaces, I cannot say that some paint flecking will not occur.)
- How long will my graphics last for?
Your graphics will last for years if properly cared for. Decals are intended for indoor use.
- How do I apply my new graphics?
You will receive application instructions with your order, or you can visit the blog to see the decal application tutorial (ps. this link will open up in a new window)
- What about removing them?
Removing your design is easy! Just peel up a corner of the decal and slowly remove it. Blasting the decal with a hair dryer on low heat for a few seconds will help make the decals even easier to remove. Decals will not leave any sticky residue behind. It is possible that some minor paint flecking could occur, depending on the condition of your walls.
- I have textured walls, will the decals stick?
Possibly. If you have an orange peel texture, decals will stick and will pick up the texture themselves. Wall decals are not recommended for use on walls that have heavy textures (i.e. stucco).
- Will decals stick to all paint finishes?
Decals adhere best to walls with matte or satin paint finishes. More detailed and intricate patterns can be problematic when being applied to walls with semi or high gloss paint finishes.
- How do I clean my surface after I've applied my graphics?
You can easily clean the surface and graphics with a mild detergent and soft cloth, but avoid using cleaners that contain alcohol or abrasive chemicals.
- I've just painted my walls, how long should I wait before applying graphics?
Wait for two to three weeks before you apply your new wall graphics, if you apply them before the paint is cured, the paint may dry to the vinyl adhesive and when you eventually remove the graphics, the paint may come off too.
- Will wall or laptop decals work on my vehicle?
Graphics are not recommended for use on cars. Sure, they'll absolutely stick to your car, but there are other types of vinyl with more aggressive adhesive made specifically for vehicle graphics - I currently don't carry any of this stuff.
- What vinyl colors are available?
Please note: I have represented vinyl colors to the best of my ability, but color varies from monitor to monitor depending on calibration.
